3rd International European Union of Associations of Translation Companies Conference - 4-5 October 2007

Building on the success of the two previous conferences in Brussels, the 3rd International EUATC Conference comes to Warsaw from 4th to 5th October 2007.

The theme of this conference is: Enterprise and project management from the global and the local perspective - best strategies and practices for the GILT (globalization, internationalization, localization and translation) industry.

As in all EUATC conferences, the program will cover a wide range of issues from the world of translation and localization services. The programme is structured towards presentations of best practices in the industry, business models, relevant industry data, case studies and practical skills from a wide range of applications.

Within the scope covered by the theme of the conference we would like to focus mainly on:

• EU market trends and statistics
• Project management, work-flow models and systems
• Translation and institutions with respect to the challenges of multilingualism
• Localization training in the EU
• Future plans, strategies and technological development trends for EU
• Case studies on implementation of IT solutions that support the translation or localization process (software provider - LSP relationship)
• Project management case studies with client involvement (LSP - client relationship)
• Best business and marketing strategies for the European services industry
• Open-source translation technology (especially web solutions).
• New language and translation technology
• Future EU perspectives for LSPs?
• Any aspect of managing a translation and localization business that may contribute to a better understanding of the process and provide know-how that helps prepare LSPs for the challenges of global markets.

Conference sessions are geared towards professionals seeking to learn about management models and strategies, project management, new software tools, methods and business practices applicable in the areas of translation and localization.
Networking and discussion opportunities will abound at the social gatherings, meals and break periods. Exhibitors will be present to provide information about their products and services to all levels of attendees.
